Playing in the Yard

The kids have been very helpful in helping me get the yard all ready for summer. We are planting trees, shrubs, and flowers this year so I am spending most days outside working in the yard with the kids. They love to shovel the dirt and be as counterproductive as possible while I try my best to make some headway in our projects. I just love being with the kids and every so often I get the chance to really reflect on why they are so special. Here are a few things about Emma and Drew that make me smile:
--Drew loves to wear his coat and shoes and I generally can't get him to take them off (even at nap time).
--Emma can sing really well for a three year old. She learns really well by singing and can sing many songs all the way through. Currently her favorite song to sing is "My Boyfriend's Back" (the sixties song).
--You can tell when Drew is finished with his meal because he buses his plate. He takes all of his spilled food and piles it on his plate, then puts his fork and spoon on his plate followed by his cup on top and brings it to you. It is really funny.
--Emma is an awesome big sister to Drew and is constantly making sure nobody is being mean to him. She always gives him a big hug when he comes down from his nap and tells him she missed him.

Would Emma be singing that song to Kaden? I think she's hinting she wants him back...they haven't played for awhile! Oh...besides at the Bateman's.

I'm excited to see your yard, happying planting. Too bad today it's raining.
